Normal through Hell
Leveling runewords
The wiki lists every runeword. It does not tell you what to make on a campaign sorceress. This page is that order: stay inside bases you can wear, and check both rune availability and base requirements. Exact rune letters still come from the wiki row, because a typo here bricks a drop.
Recipe orders and minimum levels below currently have one source: the PD2 wiki Runeword Items table. Spirit remains Tal–Thul–Ort–Amn in both its shield and sword/staff rows; it does not use Lum. Stage recommendations are editorial choices, not guaranteed campaign drops. Use a nonmagical base of an allowed type with exactly the required sockets.
A practical order
Make these only in the socket count the wiki asks for. A two-socket armor cannot become Spirit.
| Target / minimum level | Rune order | Allowed base |
|---|---|---|
| Stealth / 17 | Tal → Eth | 2-socket body armor |
| Ancients’ Pledge / 21 | Ral → Ort → Tal | 3-socket shield |
| Spirit / 25 | Tal → Thul → Ort → Amn | 4-socket sword, staff or shield; base requirements still apply |
| Lore / 27 | Ort → Sol | 2-socket helm |
| Insight / 27 | Ral → Tir → Tal → Sol | 4-socket staff, polearm or spear; no D2R bow/crossbow bases |
| Smoke / 37 | Nef → Lum | 2-socket body armor |
Class queries
“Lightning sorc runewords for the campaign” is Spirit in a sword plus Lore and Stealth, then a look at the sorceress page after checking Static Field’s Season 14 damage change. Assassin claws are not this table. Use the assassin page and filter the wiki for claw bases.
I am not printing a full Hell shopping list per class. That list goes stale every season, and the class pages already refuse to invent gear.

Questions
Is Spirit still Tal Thul Ort Amn?
That is the classic order and the PD2 wiki still documents Spirit. Open the row anyway. The stats on the item are where PD2 edits show up.
What about endgame runewords?
They are on the main list and the PD2-difference page. Do not farm a Zod-tier word while you are in Act 2 Normal.
