Season 14 is live
Project Diablo, Project D2, and PD2 all point at the same mod: Project Diablo 2, a seasonal mod for classic Diablo II plus Lord of Destruction. It does not run on Diablo II: Resurrected. There is no browser version, so the first step is a legal install.
The official homepage and wiki date Season 14 Alliance to 23 October 2026. The homepage literally labels the start “10am PST”. That label does not equal the 17:00 GMT recorded in earlier research: 10:00 PST is 18:00 UTC. We retain the official wording without guessing whether PDT was intended. The third-party timeline returned HTTP 429 on 28 October, so it was not reverified. Both official pages belong to the same source family.
What you can do today
The official homepage describes a mod made to keep the Lord of Destruction feel and reset on a season cadence. Season 14 is named Alliance. Closed beta ran 10–18 October 2026 and open beta ran 19–21 October, then the season opened on the 23rd.
The homepage says servers reset every six months. The wiki says seasons are planned every 4–6 months. TheGamer wrote every four months. Those three lines do not match, so this page stays with the homepage wording and the season hub keeps the disagreement.
What the mod adds
The homepage feature list, checked the same day, names new skills, item corruptions, endgame maps, map events, new uniques, a shared stash, stackable items, and quick cast with buff timers. Those are the reasons people search "project diablo" instead of the old battle.net ladder.
- You need your own legitimate Diablo II and Lord of Destruction install, in English.
- A cracked CD key is a permanent ban on the official rules page.
- No Season 15 date was found on the official homepage or Seasons table checked on 28 October 2026.
Watch
JuxtAPoser on the end of the Season 14 closed beta and the open beta. Upload date (YouTube metadata, single source): 2026-10-19. Project Diablo 2 Season 14 - Closed Beta is OVER on YouTube. The player loads only after you press play.
Questions
Is Project Diablo the same as Project Diablo 2?
Yes. Search shorthand such as project diablo, project d2, and PD2 refers to Project Diablo 2, the mod for classic Diablo II plus Lord of Destruction.
Can I play it in the browser?
No. The official download page only offers a launcher that installs into a local Lord of Destruction folder. This site links to that page. It does not host the client.
When did Season 14 start?
23 October 2026. The official homepage labels the time “10am PST”; the timezone discrepancy is explained above. The season name is Alliance.
