Controller support

The question is not whether a controller works. General Changes lists controller support. TheGamer reported the same from outside the team. Season 11 added a Controls menu with Steam Input, switching between mouse and pad, sensitivity, and aim assist. Season 14 lets you disable aim assist per skill.

I stopped treating “can you play on controller” as a yes-or-no after I saw it in two places plus the Season 14 patch. I do not have a button map from a current screenshot. The wiki does not publish a Season 14 diagram, and I did not open the client. The menu names are the part I can stand behind.

Where the settings are

Open the Controls menu rather than rebinding everything in Steam first. The Season 11 notes, as carried on General Changes and later patches, include Steam Input and a switch between pad and mouse without a restart. Sensitivity and aim assist are in that menu. Season 14’s controller chapter adds a per-skill toggle for automatic aim. If a build feels like it is firing at the wrong monster, that toggle is the first place to look, not a new driver.

Which builds care

Whirlwind, charge, and other movement skills feel different on a stick than on a mouse. I am not ranking them. The class pages have the Season 14 math. On Steam Deck, this menu is the control layer on top of the Deck install. A controller will not fix a black screen or a failed update. Those are the troubleshooting pages.

Questions

Can you play PD2 with a controller?

Yes. The wiki lists controller support, and Season 14 still has a controller section. You do not need a mod to enable the pad.

Does aim assist stay on?

It is a setting. Season 14 lets you turn it off per skill. The patch page is the source for that toggle.
