Worldstone Shards
How corrupting works
Corruption is a PD2 system, not a Resurrected vaal. You use a Worldstone Shard. The wiki Corruptions page is the outcome table: what can roll, how the Puzzlebox interacts, and what a Tainted Shard changes. Read that page before you corrupt the item you cannot replace.
I put the 2020 BTNeanderthal video next to the wiki and trusted the wiki. The video is useful for the idea and old for the numbers. I also do not have a before-and-after screenshot. The wiki shows the shard icon, not a gallery of bricks. I am not drawing fake results.
What the wiki commits to
The corruption article describes Worldstone Shard use, the result table, a 50% chance path tied to an affix outcome, and a 25% path that turns the item rare (the “brick”). It also documents Puzzlebox interaction and Tainted Shards. Those percentages are one wiki page. I do not have a second independent table, so treat them as the official wiki’s figures, not a community average.
If you wanted a sunder-style charm, stop. That system is not implemented. Immunities break through skills, documented on the immunity page.
A safe order
Identify the item. Decide if a rare outcome is acceptable. Check the shard you are holding against the wiki’s shard types. Then cube. Do not corrupt a build-defining unique on the first day you learn the system. The crafting page is the ordinary cube. This page is the one that can delete a roll you liked.

Questions
Can corruption brick an item?
Yes. The wiki describes a 25% outcome that turns the item rare. That is the risk. Confirm the current sentence on the wiki before you click, in case a later patch edits the table.
Is the 2020 video enough?
No. It explains the idea. The wiki page checked on 28 October 2026 is the table.
